HOW YOU CAN HELP

Don’t accept bribes – If you are an official, who has the opportunity to make easy money, please ask your conscience before you do so and prevent stabbing your motherland.

Don’t give bribes – If you are trapped in a situation where you need to pay a bribe to get your job done, instead take a copy of your form and the required documents and forward it to the higher office (like the Central Vigilance Commission). It will show that there is no valid reason for your request to not be completed, hence making the intentions of the corrupt official clear.

Use technology – Nowadays almost everyone has a mobile. Just outside the government office, switch on the voice recorder or video of your mobile. Take it in with you in a concealed manner and then you can get evidence against the official.

Get support – If you encounter an official who demands a personal favour to do his duty, try to get support from similar people who have met the same officer. Wait outside the office and talk to other applicants.

Try to spread the word – use the ifac badge in your profiles on social networking sites and in your mails. If possible, take a print-out of the badge and paste it on any public spots that you have access to – offices, malls, parks, walls, etc.

Initiate dynamic action – Realize the power that media and the internet have. Notify your grievance to specialized effective portals, like here. We shall help to spread the word and garner support.
